ASPR Updates Organizational Structure to Capitalize on Its New Capabilities and Expanded Responsibilities

In 2022, ASPR was elevated to an Operating Division within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, enabling ASPR to mobilize a coordinated national response more efficiently and effectively during future disasters and emergencies while equipping us with greater operational capabilities. Today, ASPR is leading more high-consequence, no-fail missions than ever before. ASPR continues to evolve to be even better prepared to address future health threats and protect national health security.

ASPR’s reorganization establishes a structure that accounts for its expanded mission, addresses its new capabilities, prioritizes program accountability, and is clear and straightforward in its naming conventions.

Read more about the reorganization in a blog post from Dawn O’Connell, the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response.
