The HHS/ASPR Project ECHO Clinical Readiness Rounds focus on sharing clinical challenges and successes in preparing for and responding to disasters from all threats. This program is designed to create peer-to-peer learning networks where clinicians who are highly experienced in treating patients in emergency situations share their experiences with clinicians across the U.S. and around the world who can benefit from their lessons learned. Topics are based on new and emergent information around emergency preparedness, as well as topics requested by participants.
Participants who complete a brief survey after the session are able to claim Continuing Medical Education, Continuing Nursing Education, or Continuing Education for Emergency Medical Services credits.
November 19 Special Session – IV Fluid Shortage, What’s Working, What’s Not:
As hospitals and health care facilities across the country face a shortage of IV fluids, ASPR is convening a Special Session of the HHS/ASPR Project ECHO Clinical Readiness Rounds. The session will discuss the shortage, what’s working and what’s not as clinicians of all backgrounds respond, and what lessons we can apply from this situation to future shortages. James J. Augustine, MD, Jeff Dichter, MD, Lena M. Napolitano, MD, and Peter P. Tailac, MD will lead the discussion. Clinicians on the call will also have an opportunity to share what they’re doing in their practice to mitigate the situation.
The Special Session will occur from 12:00 – 1:00 PM ET (UTC-5) on Tuesday, November 19. REGISTER HERE.
The November 19 session will be a Special Session focused on a specific, ongoing topic. Regularly scheduled Clinical Readiness Rounds sessions will resume in January 2025 after the holidays.
