Ohio Train Derailment: Impacts and Emerging Lessons Webinar Recording Available

The Collaborative for Health and Environment released online a recording of its March 22 webinar, The Ohio Train Derailment: Impacts and Emerging Lessons. The derailment of the Norfolk Southern train in East Palestine, Ohio, in February, and the subsequent burning of chemicals contained in the train cars, released large quantities of hazardous chemicals into the environment. Presenters discussed the short- and long-term health effects of the chemicals released, provided an overview of government and community responses to date, and explored how a transition to sustainable chemistry could help avert future disasters.
