About Cathleen
Cathleen Shanahan is the Senior Director, Preparedness and Response at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. In her current role, Cathleen directs all matters pertaining to the organization’s emergency preparedness and response efforts. Cathleen oversees emergency preparedness activities for all acute, non-acute, and ambulatory care settings and related services of the organization. Cathleen is very active at the city and state level with a focus on making sure that the needs of children are considered in all aspects of disaster planning, and for all hazards. Cathleen has been a Registered Professional Nurse for almost 40 years, with most of her experience serving as an Emergency Department staff nurse and leader.
