“The President’s FY 2024 budget request recognizes the need to invest in public health preparedness in the face of evolving threats – allowing us to respond faster and more effectively to whatever comes next,” said Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response Dawn O’Connell. “The budget includes funding that will enhance the National Disaster Medical System, advance the development of medical products, strengthen the public health supply chain, bolster manufacturing capacity in the United States, and sustain the Strategic National Stockpile.”
