Be Ready for Measles Toolkit

The Be Ready for Measles toolkit delivers preparedness and outbreak response tools and communication materials to make it easy for participants and their jurisdictions to communicate with the public, clinicians, and partners before and during a measles outbreak.

The measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine remains the most important tool for preventing measles.

This toolkit can help participants’ jurisdictions prepare for measles outbreaks by helping participants to:

  • Understand how to report measles immediately (within 24 hours) to CDC (measlesreport@cdc.gov).
  • Establish measles case identification and reporting within their jurisdiction.
  • Enhance education, outreach, and communication to their communities, including healthcare providers and under-vaccinated communities before and during an outbreak.
