The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a Request for Information (RFI) to solicit public input on accelerating the adoption and use of artificial intelligence (AI) as part of clinical care. Through this RFI, HHS seeks information from a broad range of stakeholders on existing barriers, opportunities, and considerations related to the development, deployment, and use of AI-enabled technologies in clinical settings. The notice requests feedback on topics including regulatory approaches, payment and reimbursement considerations, research and development needs, and challenges related to interoperability, data access, and trust. HHS also requests input on how AI may support clinical care delivery, improve health outcomes, and reduce administrative burden, while maintaining patient safety and privacy. Responses to this RFI will help inform future HHS activities, policies, and programs related to AI in clinical care. Comments on this RFI are due by February 23, 2026. For full details of the request, refer to the Federal Register notice.
