NETEC: National Preparedness Month Spotlight: Emergency Management for High Consequence Infectious Diseases

During National Preparedness Month, the NETEC Emergency Management Workgroup is spotlighting best practices to help clinicians, health care leaders, and stakeholders strengthen readiness for special pathogen events. Preparedness for pathogens such as Ebola, SARS, MERS, or other high-consequence infectious diseases requires intentional planning across all phases of emergency management: Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery. These phases provide a roadmap for reducing risk, responding effectively, and ensuring resilience.
