NETEC has released the NSPS Level 2 Resource Guide. The guide is designed to help health care facilities advance their readiness as Level 2 Special Pathogen Treatment Centers (SPTCs). SPTCs are needed to build bed capacity in the nation to care for patients with high-consequence infectious diseases (HCIDs). Level 2 facilities play a pivotal role in the nation’s readiness framework because they serve as clinical sites for patient care and are capable of managing suspected or confirmed patients with a special pathogen from initial assessment through treatment and discharge. The Resource Guide offers flexible, practical strategies that can be used to advance readiness as a SPTC.
