About Jessica

Jessica Hume is a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Preparedness Field Assignee (PFA) with the Chicago Department of Public Health.  In her current role, Jessica acts as a Regional Administrator for EMResource and EMTrack, is helping to write and revise emergency operations plans and annexes, and assists with regional communications efforts.  Jessica previously worked as a CDC Public Health Associate at the Arizona Department of Health Services.  While there, she worked on Hepatitis C prevention and education, as well as helped develop Arizona’s first Hepatitis C Elimination Coalition (Hep Free AZ) and its accompanying Elimination Strategic Plan.  During this time, she was also locally deployed to the COVID-19 response as a Regional Epidemiologist.  Jessica is a graduate of Syracuse University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health with a concentration in Refugee Health.
